Baby dedication

Throughout the year we have Baby Dedications during our Sunday morning services. Our Baby dedications are a time of celebration, where we commission parents to set a healthy example for their child as they grow up. 

At Word of Life, Baby Dedications are an expression of our desire to empower parents to raise up the next generation of Christ followers. During the dedication, the parents and the child are invited to the stage where there is a brief time of prayer and dedication.  


We believe this is the example of Jesus: He was dedicated as an infant by his parents (Luke 2.22-40), 

and baptized later as an adult (Matthew 3.16-17).

SERVICE TIMES

Sundays: 9 & 11am

Wednesdays: 7pm

Services generally last 1 hour and 20 minutes.

  • Life KIDZ (Nursery-Grade 5) is offered during all services.
  • Grades 6-8 (Merge & Accel) worship in the Sanctuary on Sundays before class in rooms 211/213.
  • Life Students (Grades 6-12) meets Wednesdays at 7pm in the Theater & Café. 
  • Lead (Ages 18-25) meets Wednesdays at 7pm in room 211/213.

our story

It all started in a hotel in Irwin, PA with less than 200 people. Church was held in a small meeting room and our pastors prayed in a storage room before services. There were often not enough chairs for the service! We quickly outgrew the hotel and moved to a rugged, simple sewing factory in Jeannette, PA. At this location, there was a large garage door that had to stay open in the summer, and the children wore coats and layers of clothing in the winter. Conditions weren't perfect, but once again, Word of Life quickly outgrew yet another place. 

In 1990, our current building was built. It has become a place where over 1,000 people find hope & community. This location allowed our church to grow more than just in numbers. Our building includes several classrooms, a café, a bookstore, a dining hall, a youth center, and a sanctuary that seats around 1,000. 

Word of Life is building forward and continuing to grow, excited for all God has planned!
